From The Jason Show -- Sweet & Savory Pistachios

These are killer. In fact, they are so good a certain boyfriend of mine might have politely asked for his own batch while I was throwing these together.

I stumbled upon the idea while researching snacks for a party I catered earlier this month and when I couldn’t find an ingredient I needed, the lovely staff at the Golden Fig in St. Paul turned me onto this Chardonnay Smoked Sea Salt.

Be prepared when you open the container! It is magical. I love experimenting with new spices — this one will be a new staple in our kitchen for sure!

What I love about these is they come off as super duper fancy but really, once you gather your ingredients you can have them thrown together in under 30 minutes. A great make-ahead option to impress, whether you are hosting or going to a party and need to bring something along!

2 cups shelled unsalted pistachios

2 tbsp butter

1 tbsp honey

1 tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp Chardonnay Smoked Sea Salt

1/2 tsp cinnamon


Preheat oven to 300°.

In glass bowl, add butter, honey, brown sugar, sea salt and cinnamon. Microwave on high for 30 second and stir until all the ingredients are mixed.

Add pistachios and toss until coated.

Cover cookie sheet with large piece of parchment paper.

Spread pistachios over parchment paper. Bake for 10 minutes.

Remove from oven, toss and bake for another 10 minutes.

Allow pistachios to cool on parchment paper before removing (this will help keep all of the sticky pistachios from sticking together).
